After graduating in 1998, he worked for five years on Capitol Hill, and then lived for two and a half years in Helena, Mont. Sirota received a degree in journalism and political science from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. His third book, which is being published in 2011, is entitled "Back to Our Future: How the 1980s Explain The World We Live In Now." In 20, Sirota was named best columnist by 5280 magazine - the largest general-interest magazine in the Rocky Mountain West and one of the nation's largest-circulation regional publications.
